Products - EinScan Tark
Below are some of are common questions about EinScan Trak.
What makes EinScan Trak unique?
It addresses common limitations of handheld 3D scanners, including restricted scanning range, the need for markers, and reliance on surface features for continuous alignment.
Within the tracking volume, users can scan smoothly without markers or surface features. The system also retains the compact size and flexibility of a handheld 3D scanner with an unique standalone 3D scanner mode.
Can the scanner be used independently?
Yes. The handheld 3D scanner can be detached from the spherical frame and used independently without recalibration.
Unlike systems that require a large and heavy target frame during standalone scanning, EinScan Trak works as a compact wireless handheld 3D scanner. It can access narrow areas that the tracking system cannot reach and is also more convenient for scanning small objects.
What object sizes can EinScan Trak scan?
EinScan Trak provides a tracking volume of up to 15 m³, easily covering vehicle-sized objects.
- For larger objects, such as boats or large sculptures, users can reposition the tracker and extend the scanning area through a tran-station workflow.
- For small objects, the seven parallel laser lines provide a point distance of up to 0.05 mm and can clearly capture objects approximately 5cm in size.
Do i still need markers when scanning?
Markers are not required in most situations. Both Tracking Mode and Scanner Mode support marker-free laser scanning.
Markers may improve the scanning experience in two situations:
For large objects that require multiple scanning passes, Global Marker or Hybrid Leapfrog can help maintain higher alignment accuracy.
In Scanner Mode, small objects or objects with few geometric features may not be suitable for marker-free alignment. Markers can be placed around the object to support stable tracking.
How does wireless operation work, and how long does the battery last?
EinScan Trak supports fully wireless operation.
A dedicated router connects the tracker and scanner to the computer, providing a cable-free scanning experience. Both devices are battery-powered and do not require an external power connection during operation.
The system provides up to 5.5 hours of battery life and supports hot-swapping individual batteries.
What is EXMeasure, and how can I get it?
EXMeasure is professional measurement software designed for users who need advanced functions such as dimensional measurement, coordinate-system alignment, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing analysis.
It also supports the export of visual inspection reports.
A one-year EXMeasure license, valued at US$699, is included with every EinScan Trak purchase at no additional cost.
